Web Site Hosting? To get started to having an on-line presence, you need to plan for several agendas. For first agenda, you need to decide what is the purpose for the web site. Many people say that they need to site for exposure to lead to sales. Whilst this can happen, the real purpose should be to augment your existing marketing campaign and should not be looked upon as the answer to your prayers. This can be done by signage, print, directory listings, radio, television, or even by advertising on other web sites which already have high exposure. Registering your site with internet search engines will also increase visitors, but issues here are ranking (with some engines requiring a premium payment to advance your ranking), and relevance (your content and target audience). The second agenda relates to your on-line content. Purposes could be an on-line store, an information or reference web site, a catalogue site, or a company or product support site. This incorporates your images, logos, files, The third agenda is to decide the layout that you like which reflects your company the best. This can include colour schemes, watermarked images, buttons and icons, and font styles (require the links to be saved as images). Now that you have your conceptual plans, your web site can be started which can take between several hours to several weeks depending on content. Once an initial template has been created, it is emailed across to the client for approval. This template will form the basis for that revision of the web site. Whilst your web site is being constructed, now is the time to get started on the hosting and domain name registration. You need to decide what will be you domain name and if it is still available, i.e.. www.yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com.au . This part can take between 4 hours (by paying them extra) to three weeks with the average period being 5 days. Now that the wheels are in motion, your web site is in the process of being registered, created and hosted over a period averaging 5 days to complete. You may also consider what email addresses are required. This can include direct email accounts, or email forwarders that direct your mail to another address. Some people choose to use a forwarder to their account with their local Internet Service Provider simply because of speed an local support for their emails. We can also create the email accounts or change accounts as required just by sending us an email or fax with the account name and password. Accounts which are to be removed or have their passwords changed require confirmation. This can be done anytime for no charge as part of our service.
